On the Farm

I have some glimmering of energy again, but I am wont to stay in bed. May sketch Utopia I today.

Was listening to Seldom Seen Kid by Elbow this morning — amazing! very cheering — “the streets have found their violins” — “we kissed like we invented it” — love it!

It’s supposed to be sunny with a high of 52 today, but we’re not going anywhere, shutters closed, abed.

Will prolly send out my update email to friends and family tomorrow. Meant to do it on the first, but you know.

Dreamed during the day of some clapboard house, preferably white, or cheery yellow, with white shutters. A screen door to the kitchen in the back, and we could sit back there and shuck black-eyed peas, view to the fields beyond. Ideal.

I sometimes wonder if I could stay in the country now that I’m needing so much civic stimulation. Maybe if it was on the outskirts of a city, a nice-sized city with an arts scene.

But the clapboard house, non-negotiable.
