Oh, I’ve got it all right — off with the hose, the sweater, the shoes, open the screen door, feed the birds. Saw ducks and geese at the bog, got mud on my Mary Janes, heh — hardly know what to do with myself but want to run and play outside. Whee! I know it will get colder again on Saturday, but I’m thrilling in this warmth. Saw a mourning dove calling on the rooftop and another pair has already found each other, not disturbed overly when Chipper and I passed them on the sidewalk.
I woke up at 2 am and was up until 3:30 ish — had to take an Advil PM — I was ready, I mean READY to start the day. Was all planning to go to the swim center but turns out I’ve still got traces of the migraine I’ve had for three days now and I need to take it lightly for a little while longer. So ready to feel better. Did my yoga this morning! Yay!
Very excited about the weekend! Dennis Nielsen is coming by to record guitar parts for two more Chris Whitley songs: Wild Country and Valley of the Innocents. I’ve been trying tenderly to sing here and there for the past week, lamentably unable to hold the note I was going for more than once. But yesterday in the car I was able to sing along to Gomez, lightly, but in key/tune. So hopefully my voice is on its way home, too.
I go to Alexandria on Saturday morning to sign the mats and pick up the framed artwork for Galerie Myrtis — can’t wait to see how the prints turned out. DodgeChrome does an excellent job printing for me, btw. Apex Molding is the framer in case you need one, also coming in above the mark every time.
I feel better today than I have in a long while it seems, and I’m most grateful for all the TLC and well wishes from everyone.
