Book Cover Progress III

More delicious hours lost in painting yesterday, with the work taking directions I had not intended, beginning with following a vine sketch between two trees in Jenkin’s Green and alternating with bright and darker greens. It now more implies forest than respresents, which I like, but again, had not intended … good! More tweaking with acrylics is always allowed.

I am working as a volunteer with the Menare Foundation on a performance art project they are doing for the Capital Fringe Festival this Summer. Very excited to help. Creating a PowerPoint Presentation and a printed program. The design ideas are all swirling in my head and through the notes on the page from a few days ago. Very fun! Very honored. July 10 – 24 or so at the Goethe Institute in Chinatown. More info on tickets, etc. as I have it, website and social media. Should be a very cool performance by Anthony Cohen, their Executive Director.

Our dark burgundy roses have bloomed again this year, and we are thrilled. If I could only transmit their heavenly old world scent as well …
