Red Cave Progress I

So here is where I finally was able to put black pastel to paper. I started from the upper right and then down, then worked my way left from there.

I filled in with the first layer of soft black Grumbacher pastel.

Ahh, now we’re getting somewhere, as I brushed in with a number 25 Da Vinci bright brush Jason gave me for Christmas many years back (thank you!).  It’s funny, if I weren’t working on this piece, I would rarely work in so much black/charcoal, so it’s really good for me to see this texture and depth this way. Hmm. Feels primal and kind of Aztec?

This is now reminding me of the Shaman Petroglyph piece, but also still feeling very primal, as I’m sure you can imagine. Next will be adding the layers of reds and more browns and golds. Fun!

Yesterday, almost immediately after taking the yogurt and fiber, I felt some relief! Until last night, when I felt almost no pain, although I still had the bloating, I could hold my tummy in without pain. But this morning on walkies, I had the pain again, at about a 4-5. Hmm. I guess it will come and go for a while, but we are hopeful. Very hopeful.

I slept like a rock last night, with very fun dreams. But I am very fatigued today. Will rest for a while before attempting anything else creative or productive. Chipper won’t mind, sleepy friend of mine.

I’ve been remembering our lovely trip to Southeast Georgia in 2009, to Cumberland Island, Okefenokee, Savannah. Beautiful memories I treasure. They waft through me in the most wonderful way now.
