Slept well until around ten-thirty or so last night when a slightly drunk, canoodling, giggling couple hanging out at varying volumes of conversation outside the window in the breezeway woke me up. Then, right upstairs, my neighbor, a nice enough Latina lady, mother of two, including the now six-month-old girl and the teen daughter, begged them to be quiet in the most polite way, from her window.
Then, they continued to canoodle, a bit irritated, then kicked the outside of the bedroom wall, “It’s because we’re black!” upon which time, I said, “hey sweetie,” and tried to see if there was something we could do about the noise so I could get back to sleep. Said situation escalated to a sort of fist fight and me calling the police, not so well, as I have PTSD and forget to say my FULL address when asked several times, argh — I’m just not good in these situations. Anyhoo, went back to bed and by the time the searchlights scanned the bedroom window, it was over. My adrenaline, however, was UP! Took pain meds and eventually fell asleep to the strains of Iron and Wine … but didn’t sleep that well. Hoping for better rest tonight.
Just now finished some edits to the novel, feeling closer and closer all the time. It’s shaping up in my bones. Feels really good to me. We shall see.
And the Christmas wreath is on the door!
Jason has made the best Chili for the week’s dinner and I’m determined that we’ll have cornbread that is not SWEET to go along with it! hee!
Now to paint!
Had the most fun mixing up the apricot color you see there — and putting down the pure red Cadmium — something about painting in pure red — ahhh!
