Got up with Jason bringing me coffee at six am and sat up with him for a bit before he left at seven. Early walkies with Chipper were very nice as it was a perfect temperature. Chipper is now acting very much the older gentleman, preferring the leisurely stroll over the jog. Harumph! We must keep him active, and he and I both need the cardio, although I do understand the pace he enjoys, for I the meditative, slower steps, where we take so much more in, every sense, is so very nice. Hmm. I will still encourage a more energetic pace and he will still encourage with his pulling to stop every other step to smell SOMETHING AMAZING MOMMY! will encourage us the other way. So be it. He gives in, I give in.
Yesterday we went into town, i.e., DC to see a friend and it was nice to be OUT.
Jason and I are still adjusting to this new positive lifestyle change he has made with his job change — less commute, smaller company, positive work environment, greater responsibility — it’s awesome no matter how you look at it — but it’s taking some getting used to. I encouraged him today to embrace it fully and take deep breaths — I’m having to do the same thing. It’s like waking up in some kind of new life, literally.
This morning in physical therapy she had to do another direct release of the dratted muscle spasm in the left side of my neck. It’s the base of your skull, she said. Yeah, Why is that? I asked. She doesn’t know. But she said only two more visits for my neck next week and I’m done. A week from Friday is my back evaluation with her.
Haircut (!) scheduled for Wednesday.
I’ve just finished cooking dinner for the week: lemon thyme yellow squash rounds baked with grated Italian cheese, Red Swiss Chard sauteed with mushrooms, onions, sesame oil and garlic — and my fave lemon herb roasted chicken breasts, with the first fresh herbs from the garden this year — basil and two types of oregano — the home smells yum.
I have to paint now! hee!
And there you have it … now to rest — a long day for me! Adieu!
