This painting is really starting to excite me. How about you? I added the Burnt Umber stripe to the Earth section today, then Cobalt Blue, then cornflower blue mix, then Cobalt Teal. Mixed up a lime to the left there, then straight Dioxazine Purple, which is really an interesting one, straight out of the tube. I haven’t really used it before. It is like an ink. At first I thought it was going to be like the Iron Oxide, where every stroke shows? But then it brushes out, beautifully, like a stain, an ink. Just amazing. Made a lavender. Then Cadmium Red for the heart of things, the mauve, then the dove pink.
Didn’t want to but have to stop there.
This cold is running it’s course. It’s but a horse, of course, Mr. Ed. Whinny.
All I wanted to do was paint today, so. There you have it. That’s what I did. I shall have some time of it. Resting, when I want to paint. No choice, tho. Reading shall have to suffice.
Almost have the writing bug, but for some reason feel like I have to paint on this series like mad. Need to write like mad at the same pace. After Christmas, methinks. Still more Christmas cards to go out when I have stamps again. They may be late but not never. Heh.
Can’t get enough of Cat Power or Arcade Fire right now or Ali Farka Toure and Vieux Farka Toure. So that’s good they’re on the IPod there. Vampire Weekend as well.
More memories emailed to the counselor last night. Meh. Feeling rather buoyant spiritually tho, given it’s the holiday. Go to hell if what you’re thinking is not right, Bob Marley just sang. Could you be loved, and be loved? It took some frickin’ time. Sigh. Some time indeed. Unfair beyond belief.
