Grand Canyon I – VII

DSC_4753Today I added another layer of erosion to the mountain, brighter Red Oxide, straight this time, then Prussian Blue and Burnt Umber pulled down through it lightly over the top. Then, I made the overarching triangle of pure Red Oxide and called it a painting day.

Remember, with acrylics, this is just the beginning, as I was thinking about the light, looking at the Sun through the clouds this morning — I will be adding the balancing lights and depths in the end.

Counseling today went well, talking about how I’ve been coping with the stress this week, and continuing with the article on the gifted and existential depression.

I will have a new solo paintings show to announce very soon, for November-January! πŸ™‚ Very excited about this! πŸ™‚

We did a bit of gardening cleanup and herb harvesting this afternoon. I did a load of dark laundry, as I have been wearing mostly black all week, for obvious reasons.

The weather is still lovely and on the deliciously cool side.

We will have guest musicians over both days this weekend to work on layers of Standing in the Doorway, so I will be creating or resting in the den with the IPod. πŸ™‚

Many flashbacks per usual. What can I say? Of riding my bike scarily to Dellinger Park and almost being run off the road by fast cars and people yelling at me … of the Country Club pool … of the road to my Grandmother’s house where the candy store was … late Summer early memories … while painting … slow me down but that’s just what it’s like for me always …

Back pain is hard on the left side, pinches, but less today because of yoga yesterday — yay!

The urologist nurse called back and said the cytology results from Monday were atypical, but they think they were contaminated with the menstrual blood. So they want to redo the test on Tuesday. Good to do it twice anyway to be sure, right?

I have depressed alters and cheerful alters. It’s messed up but it’s me. Do you understand?

Time to rest before making our Friday breakfast dinner. Jason made awesome herb cheese biscuits from scratch!!!
