Grand Canyon I – X

DSC_4765Today I used Sap Green to make a tiny tree at the lowest left corner, then Naples Yellow to add a bit of light back for contrast. Funny how that works. 🙂

Then, I made sky. As you well know, this is one of my favorite things to do and say. I studied the foto as I mixed, and it is a bright, deep and crisp, clear blue sky to match. Oddly enough, it needed not only my regular STANDARD blue sky mix of Cobalt Blue and loads of Titanium White — lovely mousse souffle, right? — but several smidges of Phthalo Blue (Green Shade). Hmmm? But so it was.

It also reminds me of a Road Runner sky, you recall those cartoon desert skies?

That was great fun  to paint. I’m not done with the detailing around the tree, or the clouds, but a good start.

Today took a long time to get started because I had such a hellatious time overnight with flippage due to back and hip pain. No nightmares that I recall, though? So much pain that for the first time in many many weeks I had pain killer and muscle relaxant right off the bat. That is saying a lot, mind you. And I have had steady med all day because of pain. Have done yoga as well. Not sure why so much pain all of a sudden? Yesterday was low key?

Sigh. Just roll with my stuph I suppose.

We went to Lewis Orchards after Jason returned from giving blood work for his doctor’s tests, and it was a delight of abundance. Jason has spent the afternoon canning hot peppers for his Italian sandwiches, tomatoes and making fig jam, from his mother’s fig tree out front of her home. Coolness. We will surely appreciate that come Winter.

Notice the Southernism. ?

Then I went to the pool, the water was too cool to swim, though, so I just basked in the Sun for thirty minutes and ripened my tanny tan. Yes. Listened to the U2 shuffle on the IPod that I actually started yesterday am. It is a large shuffle, Buddha bless them, gospel choir, Edge and all.

Then came in to paint. You know the rest.

Speaking of which, I need to, eat and rest.

Oh! There is an interview with me on Exposed Vocals that will be up for an unknown period of tyme. Here:

It was a good exercise to answer the questions from a vocalist perspective, eh?

Anyhoo. Gotta eat! Take care and have a good night!
