Rainforest II – I

photo1First off, let me say how much I’ve missed blogging. 🙂 I’ve been wrapping and labeling and touching up paintings rather nonstop, cleaning up the apartment, etc. for two weeks, right? and then there is the lovely table above for the feasting for yesterday! Yes! We did have a lovely turnout and some saleage. Yay … so it was worth all the effort.

However, Chipper, Jason and I are all under the weather today and resting for the most part. It was Chipper’s birthday and we think he had too many treats, and the rich food got to Jason and me. Oh well, one day of wild partying and we’re DOWN! Ha.

DSC_5500I did for the first time yesterday and today have the chance to paint again on Rainforest II, and it was such a pleasure, even though I’m not feeling at all well and have very little energy. That’s how much I love painting, you all. 🙂 However, I do NOT like the green leaf in the center and may be painting over it. Not sure. Hmmm. It’s a bit too flat for me. We shall see.

The tree trunks and branches are largely a gray green, a special mixture I made up this morning, carefully painted in.

I do adore the wild bits of bright green here and there the most, as if jungle fairies have been visiting the canvas.

When I rested this afternoon, post painting and pre last walkie for Chipper, I flooded with flashbacks. Heavens, you all. Just heavens. It’s been so long since that has happened, that it quite took me by surprise.

ARgh.

Tomorrow afternoon I have a much-needed hour and a half massage.

Otherwise the week is largely full of rest, painting and creating the screenplay again, which makes me very happy. On Saturday we are scheduled for a very early morning of upping a borrowed 10 x 10 tent at Black Rock Center for the Arts’ Open House sponsoring the Art League of Germantown, whereupon we shall fit as much art as possible in the cars for five minutes’ drive over, from 10 – 2 pm and well, fingers crossed for more sales. I’ve got more art for sale than you can shake a stick at. As it were.

We’re also thinking of the Germantown Flea Market which meets at the MARC terminal the first Saturday of the month, sponsored by the Germantown Historical Society. So that would be good as well. Stay tuned! 🙂

So good to be chatting with you again! I’ve missed you all so much!
