The Sketch She is Done!

More good news, but little data to show for it, heh. I tried for twenty minutes to take a good photo of the completed (!) sketch of the Pedernal Mountain piece, ah! but to no avail, only to higher pain levels. so, scratch.

At least I was able to start (a) and finish (b) the thing. I must admit I was quite challenged by the beauty of the mountain last night, and where to start, where to begin?

This morning I woke at 4:30 AM to a 9 level migraine that I got down to a 7 with lovely ice head wrapping (la la!) by 5 AM. Stomach growled insistently so I had a banana in the hopes of going back to sleep but the adrenaline in my system said no. So, I accepted the beginning of the day as cheerfully and calmly as possible, but have never really lost the high level of pain, until about 3 PM when I had a bath and it went down to about a 4, only to rise back to 7 as I got dressed (shakes head, laughing). Who can understand such a thing, not so funny after all?

About mid-day I called the pharmacy but the pre-authorization with the insurance company has not gone through. argh argh argh.

At least I was able to get the full sketch done, and it was a joy, believe me, once I got started. It really flowed. My concern now is that it is very detailed. I really do wish I could show it to you at this point. argh, yet again. sigh. Anyway, because pastels in chalk form are not super-fine to the point, unless I were to go out and get a bunch of pencil form ones in the colors I need. I may be able to use some of the watercolor pencils I have but I reallllllly hesitate to mix media I’m unfamiliar with on such an important piece. hmmm. So.

The biscuit fairy, in the mean time, hath spoken, offering up two lovely biscuit for my comfort and warmth, from the oven, and there I go, thusly, yum … wishing you well!
